About Me

Building an 18th century bateau.

AS AN EMPLOYEE of a living history museum, as well as a long term member of the re-enacting community, I have re-enacted the French and Indian War, American Revolution, War of 1812, and American Civil War and have been interested in history for as long as I can remember.

I am dedicated to preserving the skills and techniques used in the 18th century – particularly focusing on the trades of carpentry and joinery.  I have devoted many hours of reading and research to learning about the tools and techniques of the time period, and this site is an attempt to share with you some of what I have gleaned. I hope the website is both informative and interesting to those interested in learning about the history of traditional woodworking.

This site is also designed to be an avenue through which I can sell some of my wares, which I strive to produce using the same tools and technology which was used over 200 years ago. I believe my work accurately represents the items created by these skilled tradesmen over two hundred years ago, and hope you find it satisfactory. Thanks for looking at my site and I hope you enjoy browsing through it!
